Frequently Asked Questions

Digital vs. Analogue?

This is quite the question! There are good arguments for both analogue and digital radio microphone systems.

Pyers Easton has published his personal views, read on!

I’d like to know if my current wireless microphone system is compatible with another product.

Whilst in general terms wireless microphones should be the same brand, series and frequency band, there are exceptions to this, although mixing and matching receivers and transmitters is generally best avoided.

Most major manufacturers offer full backwards compatibility. For further information please call us to discuss!

I’m often working in Europe and in the UK, which frequency should I buy?

This can be fairly ambiguous, as it really does depend!

In the most general terms a wireless microphone system that operates in the UHF Band 470-790MHz as this is the most widely used frequency range across most European countries. That said please always check local regulations for specific frequency restrictions. We’ve written a guide with further information you may find helpful – Frequently Asked Questions.

I have concerns about other wireless devices interfering with my radio mics, can you advise?

We can! Although, it’s worth considering the most common offenders in the first instance:

  • Signal – could anything be blocking the signal?
  • Antenna placement – has this been considered to properly maximise the performance.
  • Correct frequency co-ordination.
  • Gain set up.
