DPA SMK 4060 CORE Stereo Kit
The DPA SMK 4060 CORE Stereo Kit – This Stereo Microphone Kit is a cost-effective and flexible stereo recording solution aimed at project studios and for discreet mic setup on stage. It contains a complete stereo pair; two handpicked omnidirectional condenser microphones, selected on sensitivity within ±1.5 dB.
It combines two 4060 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, Normal SPL, with a variety of mounting accessories. These include the BLM6000 Boundary Layer Mount, which can be used in conjunction with our 4060, 4061, 4062 and 4063 Miniature Microphones to place on a reflective boundary such as a floor, wall, ceiling, piano lid etc. This enables the mics to capture the ambient sound of the area. The sound captured from this “pressure zone” has higher sensitivity, clarity and intelligibility compared to the sound captured from the “free air”. This solution serves as a kind of acoustical zoom.
There are many accessories included in the kit. One of them is the DMM0007 Universal Surface Mount. This mount allows all kinds of instruments, from acoustic guitar through grand piano and drums, to be mounted in the best-sounding position. The mount uses special non-marking adhesive discs for attachment.
The DPA 4060 CORE:
The DPA CORE 4060 Lav Mic With Termination Options – DPA developed this new amplifier to create an even clearer sound from the ‘highest of the highs’ to the ‘lowest of the lows’. With an increase of up to 14dB, the ‘CORE’ technology gives the microphones a more clear and more open sound in the whole level range; from a whisper to a scream.
The 4060 has always been, and still is, one of the most clear, consistent and robust miniature microphones you can find on the market. It is known for working across a wide dynamic range as well as exhibiting low distortion across all SPLs. But, if you need to squeeze a little more performance out of your mics, choose CORE. The CORE 4060 for Normal SPL gets a 6 dB increase in both THD and Dynamic range:
Located in the capsule of its miniature mics, ‘CORE’ is currently available in the 4060, 4061 & 4066 mics.
Microphones purchased with the new technology will come in ‘CORE’ packaging and will have a blue label near the serial number on the cable to differentiate between these and the original versions. A very discreet laser engraving stating ‘core’ has been incorporated at the microphone capsule as well. The remaining d:screet™ and d:fine™ microphones and full range of color options will be available with ‘CORE’ technology in early 2018.
Total harmonic distortion: < 1% THD up to 129 dB SPL peak
Dynamic range: Typ. 106 dB
