Cinela Leonard Windshield
The Cinela Leonard Windshield consists of a semi-rigid cage (unbreakable), a fabric (removable front part) and an additional fur (synthetic).
The Leonard ball is in the tradition of removable front windscreens for use with interference tube-free microphones. Like all other windscreens for microphones sensitive to sound pressure gradient (Cardioid, Hyper-cardioid), the principle is to create a cavity around the capsule in order to reduce the pressure differences on either side of the membrane.
The first “skin” is made of a 3D fabric with selected porosity (Idem Zephyx/Piano/Pianissimo) for indoor use. A removable fur can be added for outdoor use.
Contrary to other options (Piano, Pianissimo or Zephyx), the volume of the Leonard is rather reduced and everything is a matter of delicate compromise between size, wind efficiency and acoustic transparency. Nevertheless, its diameter is 10cm (without fur), which allows it to maintain a “soft” sound degradation with regard to its wind efficiency.
Options:
- LEO-20 is dedicated to the Schoeps CMC6 (20mm) or any other microphone with a diameter of 20.0 or 20.1mm.
- Wind protection ball (10cm diameter), for 20mm diameter microphones, like the Schoeps CMC6. Main fabric for indoor use. Extra fur for outdoor use. Compatible with the standard configuration CMC/OSIX 2.
- LEO-20-MS is dedicated to the MS Schoeps CMC6 & CCM8 (or CMC1L without CUT60).
- Wind protection for a Schoeps MS pair CMC6 + CCM8. Exclusive usage with the specific suspension OSIX 2MS or OSIX 2MS-CAM (camera mounting). The CMC6 standard body can be replaced by a CCM miniature microphone (or CMC1L) fitted in the A-CCM-CMC adapter.
- LEO-22a version: KM184/85 (21.8mm).
- LEONARD Ball adapted for the Neumann KM184/185. It’s also possible to adapt it for the old KM140/150 but we don’t propose a suspension in case of the fur addition (the Mic is too short).
- LEO-25: is dedicated to the Sennheiser MKH40/50 (25mm).
