Shipping to Europe – The Changes Explained

Shipping to Europe

Leaving the European Union has caused certain changes to how the UK trades with countries within the EU. It is important that we tell you what is likely to happen as your delivery arrives.

We will invoice everyone without VAT, but you will need to pay VAT, at the rate applicable to your country, to the courier. If you are VAT registered, you will be able to claim this VAT back in the normal way. If you are not VAT registered you should not consider this as an extra charge as we would have in the past charged you VAT at the UK rate anyway.

The very large majority of the items we sell will not attract duty under the prevailing trade agreement. We will be adding commodity codes to invoices to clearly show the accurate classification.

Handling Fees
These are applied by the courier and are the most difficult charge to define as they can vary between couriers and countries however our experience so far has shown them to be between 15 and 20 Euros per shipment.

In the short-term application of the new rules is likely to cause some delays but this is likely to improve over time as better practices are employed by the couriers and customs agents.
