Raycom News

Professional wireless sound distributor Raycom ltd is excited to announce the launch of Wisycom’s new high performance, true diversity IEM/IFB receiver, the MPR50.

The MPR50 has a lot to offer in a sleek black compact and lightweight design. Superb quality FM stereo for MPX decoding with mix mode function in IEM mode and narrow band modulation to enhance noise immunity and coverage in mono IFB mode.

Whilst this new unit is already being well received by historical users of the previous model, MPR30, in location sound, it’s the live sound market where heads or, more importantly, ears are being turned. 200mw peak audio power optimsied for ultimate clarity is offering performers, especially singers, an IEM solution unavailable to date.

Enhanced sound is supported by a robust RF design. Real true diversity configuration across a huge 232 MHz tuning range and an impressive ability to reject and avoid spurious transmissions or EMC from led screens means the signal always gets through.

Professional wireless audio specialists, Raycom, are now stocking the world’s first digital covert in ear audio monitor aimed at the broadcast and film market.

The “Roger Earpiece” system from Swiss based Phonak Communications offers virtually invisible, intelligible audio, as part of a perfectly simple solution for delivery of director’s feed and prompting. Leveraging their expertise in designing miniature hearing devices, Roger Earpiece is shaped to sit comfortably inside the ear canal. Thanks to its fully integrated receiver and battery, there is no need for cables or belt packs, making Roger Earpiece the most discreet in-ear receiver available today.

The Roger Earpiece system uses Phonak’s proprietary technology in the license-free 2.4GHz band, with adaptive frequency hopping to deliver interference free clear audio with a bandwidth of 100Hz-7kHz and sound output of up to 100dB.

Along with its companion products the Roger Base Station and, reddot award winning, mobile Roger Touchscreen Mic, Roger Earpiece gives audio professionals a complete plug-and-play platform, with one button connection and flexibility to configure transmissions from single or multiple sources as required.

Scalability is a key feature of the Roger system. A network of any amount of Roger Earpieces can be set up with each base station. In addition up to five touchscreen microphones can be introduced. The hand held or neck worn touchscreen microphone allows portable audio input to the earpiece alongside feed from the base station either to all earpieces or individually to a single earpiece within the network.

Andy Clements, Raycom Commercial director, says, “ Phonak’s miniature designs are legendary. The clarity and RF performance of Roger is very impressive and will certainly become a firm favourite with both sound specialists and talent alike “

Microphones themselves have become small to the point of being virtually invisible, however the associated wireless transmitter can still pose a concealment challenge.

RF specialists, Raycom, are proud to announce the UK launch of the SSM from Lectrosonics, destined to be a powerful tool for sound engineers struggling with a tight space or demanding talent. In spite of its impressively small size (55x35x15mm), about the same as a box of matches, the SSM offers an extensive feature set and performance on par with all Lectrosonics models. Frequencies are selectable in 100 kHz or 25 kHz steps across a tuning range of 75Mhz, in other words around 3000 available frequencies across three standard frequency blocks. The servo bias input accepts mic or line level signals with a wide range of gain adjustment in 1 dB steps. Accurate LED indications on the keypad allow precise gain adjustments to be made for the maximum signal to noise ratio and minimum distortion. The limiter in the preamp can cleanly handle signal peaks over 30 dB above full modulation, allowing the input gain to be set high enough to achieve the maximum signal to noise ratio, yet provide protection against input overload. Power is provided by a slim Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, a compatible dual charger is included in the box along with a choice of mounting clips. SSM is compatible with existing analog Lectrosonics camera slot receivers and the impressive new wideband Venue 2 rack mounted product.
